Discover Qingdao’s Magical Winter Jazz Town

Embracing the Holiday Spirit at Qingdao’s Winter Jazz Town

merry Christmas from Winter Jazz Town

As December progresses, the excitement for the upcoming new year grows. With Christmas—one of my favorite yearly celebrations—just around the corner, the festive mood is truly in the air. While Europe comes alive this time of year with Christmas markets offering mulled wine and unique gifts, Qingdao has its own enchanting event: the Winter Jazz Town.

Now in its second year, the event is held in Qingdao’s Badaguan area and features three distinct venues: Snow GardenJazz Garden, and Lucky Garden. Each offers its own unique charm, making it worthwhile to visit all three. The event began on November 29th and will run until December 25th, 2024.

Event Schedule, Hours & Admission

November 29 – December 15: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only

December 20 – December 25: Daily

Operating Hours: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Admission Fee: 24.9 RMB

Admission includes an eco-friendly tote bag and discount coupons for food or gifts inside the market. You’ll also receive a wristband, which you must keep on until you leave the event. Since the three venues are spread out, be sure to check the map for navigation.

Getting There

By Subway: Take Line 3 to Taipingjiao Park Station. Exit through Gate B, and the venue will be easy to find.

Once you exit the subway, take a stroll along the nearby coastal walkway before or after exploring the Christmas market. The Badaguan area is also a great spot for a scenic walk. If you’re planning to visit Zhongshan Park or other attractions nearby, consider adding Winter Jazz Town to your itinerary. Just make sure to bundle up, as the sea breeze can be quite chilly!
